Women's Swimming And Diving Gears Up For New England Catholic Invitational

- The Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team will continue the 2012-2013 season on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 19-20, at the New England Catholic Invitational hosted by Boston College. The meet will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
- This will be the second straight season the Crusaders have participated in the New England Catholic Invitational. Last season, senior Kristen Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine) earned three fourth place finishes in the 200 individual medley, 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. The team earned a total of 29 top-10 finishes including seven top-five finishes. Graduate Annie O'Shea took fifth in the 200 butterfly, senior Natalie Livingston (Auburn, Wash.) took fifth in the 200 breaststroke and Gina Mannix took fifth in the 500 freestyle. The 400 freestyle relay team consisting of sophomore Jennifer Gilbert (Libertyville, Ill.), O'Shea, junior Megan Marrkand (Westford, Mass.) and senior Laura Webber (Hampden, Mass.) finished fourth.
- The Crusaders are coming off their first home meet of the season, falling to Fairfield. The Crusaders will be on the road for the next seven competitions. The team will then return home for the second and final home meet of the season, taking on Bryant at the Hart Pool Feb. 2, 2013, before heading to the Patriot League Championship on Feb. 21-23.
