Poremba Named To Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-PL Team

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior Kelsey Poremba (Bedford, N.H.) has earned one of 10 spots on the women's swimming and diving Academic All-Patriot League team, as voted on by the Patriot League's swimming and diving sports information directors. To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport.

Poremba holds a team-high 3.90 grade-point average while majoring in Chemistry. She was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll each of her first two seasons and is a member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy. This is the first time Poremba has earned Academic All-Patriot League recognition. The junior swam a new career-best time of 56.13 in the 100 freestyle at the Patriot League Championship and also competed in the 50 freestyle (25.80) and 100 backstroke (1:04.77).

The women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2012-2013 campaign at the Patriot League Championship, finishing seventh for the first time since 2003.
