WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior Emily Ferris (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from November 28-December 4. Ferris swam in three individual events and two relays last weekend, as the Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team competed at the Harold Anderson Invitational in Kingston, R.I.
During the meet, which included teams from Holy Cross Maine, Providence, Rhode Island and Vermont, Ferris earned second place finishes in a pair of events. She claimed second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.96, and the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:13.32.
Ferris also earned an eighth place finish in the 200-yard individual medley, clocking a 2:17.91. In addition, she swam the anchor leg on Holy Cross' 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay teams. The 200 free relay finished in fourth place (1:42.58), with the 400 free relay placing sixth (3:48.40).
Holy Cross currently has an overall record of 1-3-1 on the season. The Crusaders are off until Jan. 15, when they play host to Central Connecticut State and Vermont at the Hart Center Pool.
