WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Holy Cross women's tennis team could not tally a point, dropping a 7-0 decision to conference opponent Army at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center. With the decision, the Crusaders put together a record of 10-3 (0-1 Patriot League) while the Black Knights go to 19-6 (5-0 PL).
The Black Knights swept the doubles portion of the event, winning by exact 8-0 scores. Army also won all six singles matches as all Crusaders were able to win one game in each outing. Senior Emily Marr (Jefferson, Mass.) won three games in the first set of the No. 3 single match, but eventually fell 6-3, 6-1. Sophomore Maya Welch (Rye, N.Y.) also won two games at No. 5 singles, falling by a final 6-1, 6-2 tally.
Holy Cross wraps up league action against Lafayette tomorrow, April 14. Match time is set for 10:00 a.m. at the Malek Courts in West Point, N.Y.
