Women's Tennis Tops Hartford, 5-2

WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman classmates Jaclyn Carroll (Tewksbury, Mass) and Abby Henry (Wellesley, Mass.) each posted victories in singles and doubles matches to help lead the Holy Cross women's tennis team to a 5-2 triumph over Hartford at the Holy Cross Tennis Courts.  The Crusaders move to 2-0 on the season, while the Hawks slip to 0-1.

Carroll beat Ashley Harel 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles match and teamed up with junior Maya Welch (Rye, N.Y.) to defeat Katina Zampas and Hannah Goldman 8-6 in number one doubles action. 

Henry paired up with first-year Addie Devine (Portland, Maine) in the number two doubles match as they beat Haral and Colleen Beck 8-7 (7-2).  Henry also captured the singles win as she defeated Beck 6-4, 6-0. 

Holy Cross freshman Cassy Deng (Eden Prarie, Minn) added a fifth singles win with a score of 6-3, 6-2 over Christie Greenberg.

The Crusaders will return to action on Friday, September 28, as they will host St. Anselm at 3:30.
