Women's Tennis Falls To Providence, 7-0
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Holy Cross women's tennis team was not able to win its third straight match, dropping a 7-0 decision to Providence on Saturday, September 29. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 2-1 on the season while the Friars improve to the same record.
The duo of senior Jessica DeSimone (Lincoln, R.I.) and freshman Cassy Deng (Eden Prairie, Minn.) highlighted the match with their team-leading sixth win at No. 3 doubles this season. They defeated Bryant players Alli Carnall and Ali Marie Sullivan by a score of 8-4. DeSimone made her No. 6 singles match interesting, but she lost to Elisabetta Dewitt 6-4, 6-2.
The Crusaders continue their fall slate on Monday, October 1 as they travel to Bryant for a 3:00 p.m. start.
