WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior women's tennis captain Jessica DeSimone (Lincoln, R.I.) was selected to the 2013 Academic All-Patriot League team, as voted on by the league's sports information directors. To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport.
The Patriot League All-Academic team was established during the 2011 season, as DeSimone is the only women's tennis player from around the league to receive this honor all three times. This season, DeSimone held a 4-3 mark in singles matches and an 8-9 record in doubles tilts. She finishes up her four years at Holy Cross going 7-9 in singles tilts and holding a 28-26 mark in doubles matches.
DeSimone is a three-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and holds the highest GPA on the team at 3.67. In a few weeks, she will graduate with a degree in Biology from Holy Cross. The Crusaders concluded the 2012-2013 season with a 5-10 record overall.
