WORCESTER, Mass. – Five players on the Holy Cross women's tennis team were awarded a spot on the 2013 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Senior Jessica DeSimone (Lincoln, R.I.) solidified her fourth consecutive appearance on the honor roll this past season. In 2011 and 2012 DeSimone also earned a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League team in addition to her honor roll accolades. She boasted the highest GPA for the Crusaders this past season with a stellar 3.93 grade point average.
Other Crusaders who earned a spot on the honor roll include junior Maya Welch (Rye, N.Y.), along with freshmen Isabel Doran (New York, N.Y.), Abby Henry (Wellesley, Mass.) and Rachael Studley (Lakeville, Mass.). It was the first appearance for all four student-athletes on the honor roll.
The Crusaders had five of the 42 student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll from the Patriot League this past season. A student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average or higher in the spring semester while participating in a winter or spring sport in order to be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll.
