WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross track and field program welcomed 33 student-athletes to the Hart Track on Wednesday with 15 men competing in the Holy Cross Decathlon and 18 women participating in the Holy Cross Heptathlon. With four of seven events complete in the heptathlon, Shantel Nobel from American International leads the women with 2,627 points. Stefano Combi from Northeastern sits atop the leader board after five of 10 events in the decathlon with 3,597 points.
Two Crusaders from the men's track and field team are competing in the decathlon. Senior Michael Millard (Manhasset, N.Y.) finished day one in 10th place with 2,738 points and sophomore Amenawon Johnson (Framingham, Mass.) is in 13th place with 2,541 points.
The heptathlon and decathlon will conclude tomorrow, Thursday, April 19, with the men set to start the final five events of the decathlon at 11:00 a.m. and women scheduled to begin the final three events of the heptathlon at 11:30 a.m.
