Women's Track & Field To Travel to Duke Invitational And New Hampshire

  • The women's track and field team will split up this weekend with select members traveling to Durham, N.C. for the Duke Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 5-6, and others traveling to Durham, N.H. for a meet with New Hampshire and Maine on Saturday, April 6.
  • Last season, Crusaders traveled to three different meets on the first full weekend in April. Select members participated in the Tiger Classic in Auburn, Ala. where sophomore Mackenzie Arndt (Merrimack, Mass.) took 12th in the pole vault to lead the Crusaders. Other team members traveled to New Hampshire where sophomore Abigail Mitchell (Manchester, N.H.) led HC with a pair of fourth place finishes. Junior Mariel Flood (Kinnelon, N.J.) led the team at the Wagner Invitational with a fourth place finish of her own.
  • The Crusaders are coming off another split-team weekend as members traveled to the Dick Shea Open in West Point, N.Y. while other participated in the Snowflake Classic, hosted by Tufts. Junior Stephanie Okpoebo (Chelmsford, Mass.) sprinted to second and third place finishes and set a new career-fasted time in the 400-meter dash (58.04) at the Snowflake Classic while senior Kelcey Germain (Auburn, Mass.) also set a career-best mark in the hammer throw with a distance of 44.75 meters. At the Dick Shea Open, sophomore Emilia Sainato (Albany, N.Y.) set a career-best time in the 100-meter hurdles (15.40 seconds).
