Brittany Gorski Earns Meegan Athletic Achievement Award

WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior Brittany Gorski (Tewksbury, Mass.) from the women's track and field team is this year's recipient of the John A. Meegan Athletic Achievement Award. The award was announced at the 58th annual Holy Cross Varsity Club dinner, held at the Hogan Campus Center on Satruday, May 4.

Gorski won the 2013 New England indoor championship in the 800-meter run in a school indoor record time of 2:10.65, and the 2013 Patriot League outdoor championship in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.57. She also won first team All-Patriot League honors as a member of the 2010 Patriot League outdoor champion and school record setting 4x400-meter relay team, and is a three-time second team All-Patriot League selection in the 800-meter run (2013 indoor), 400-meter hurdles (2012 outdoor) and 4x800-meter relay (2012 indoor).

A team captain and a member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy, Gorski is a two-time recipient of the team's Coaches' Award and was selected to the 2012 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Away from the track, she was the co-chair of Sweet Dreamzzz and volunteered with the Holy Cross Goes Unified program and Big Brothers / Big Sisters.
