Amanda Waldron Named To Track & Field Academic All-PL Team

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior Amanda Waldron (Walpole, Mass.) has been named to the women's track and field Academic All-Patriot League team, as voted on by the Patriot League's track and field sports information directors and announced by the league. To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport.

Waldron finished second of 21 runners in the 5,000-meter run at the 2013 Patriot League Outdoor Championship, earning second team All-Patriot League accolades in the process. She crossed the finish line at 17:45.93. She also set a new career-fastest time earlier this outdoor season in the 5,000 at the Holy Cross Invitational, taking home first place of 17 runners with a time of 17:38.18. Waldron holds a 3.64 cumulative grade-point average while majoring in biology. This is her first career Academic All-Patriot League selection. She has also been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll three times, twice for cross country and once for track and field. 

The women's track and field team concluded the 2013 outdoor season last weekend, finishing seventh of 35 teams at the New England Championship.
