Bruce Stearns enters his 32nd year in 2012-2013 as an assistant coach with the Holy Cross women’s track program after having joined the staff in 1981.

Stearns’ duties include working with the women sprinters, hurdlers, high jumpers and multi event performers. He has coached Patriot League and New England champions in the 55 meter high hurdles, 100 meter hurdles and the heptathlon while also coaching a Patriot League champion in the 400 meter hurdles.

Stearns also has helped his athletes break numerous Holy Cross records, including the 55-meter high hurdles, 100-meter high hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 4x100-meter relay, 4x400-meter relay, the pentathlon and the heptathlon.

Stearns graduated from Worcester State College with a degree in Media Communications. He qualified for the NCAA Division III National championship in the 55 meter high hurdles and captured many Worcester City and MASSCAC hurdles crowns.
