Holy Cross Loses To Boston College, 3-0, To Conclude Beanpot Classic
WORCESTER,
Mass. - Boston College had three players with double-digit
digs and two more with double-digit kills as the Holy Cross
volleyball team lost to the Eagles, 3-0, on Saturday at the Beanpot
Classic at the Holy Cross Field House by scores of 25-18, 25-13 and
25-20. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 1-7 overall while the
Eagles improve to 7-1 on the season.
Junior setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
had a double-double for Holy Cross, tallying 24 assists and 10
digs. It was her third double-double of the season and the 14th of
her career. Freshman Megan Lynch
(Mendham, N.J.) added 10 kills
and freshman Elizabeth Watters (San Francisco,
Calif.) had 13 digs.
Setter Krissy Mussenden tallied 43 assists for Boston
College while Mollie Kolosky collected 17 kills and Taylor Williams
added 12. Jordan Meredith led the Eagles with 14 digs, followed by
Krystle Higgins with 12 and Kristen Baader with 11.
O'Donnell and senior Samantha Surface (Fresno,
Calif.) were named to the All-Tournament Team from Holy
Cross. O'Donnell tallied 43 assists and 18 digs during the
tournament while Surface had 10 digs and eight kills overall.
Kolosky and Williams were selected to the All-Tournament Team from
Boston College while Jessica Tkachuk and Leah Neubeck were named
from Northeastern.
Holy Cross returns to action Tuesday, Sept. 15 when it travels to
Central Connecticut. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.
