Volleyball Drops 3-0 Match To Bucknell
LEWISBURG, Pa. - Freshman Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) recorded double-digit kills for the ninth time this season with 14, but the Holy Cross volleyball team fell at Bucknell, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at Davis Gym by scores of 25-14, 25-19 and 25-16. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 1-14 overall (0-2 Patriot League), while the Bison improve to 5-9 on the season (1-1 Patriot League).
Junior libero Angela Chisholm (Millis, Mass.) led the Crusaders with 14 digs as she posted double-digit digs for the seventh straight match and for the 10th time this season. Senior Samantha Surface (Fresno, Calif.) tallied the second most kills with five and digs with 12 on the team. Junior setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) recorded 18 assists.
The Bison were led by Kaitlin Segal who recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 14 digs, while Heidi Kamp had led the team with 11 kills. Allison Gittings had 31 assists and Emily Sawanobori posted 18 digs.
The Crusaders return to action when they play at Lafayette on Friday, Oct. 2 at 7:00 p.m., while on Saturday, Oct. 3, they will play at Lehigh at 4:00 p.m.
