WASHINGTON, D.C. – Magdalena Tekiel recorded a double-double with 17 kills and 11 digs for the Eagles as the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to American, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at Bender Arena by scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-16, in Patriot League action. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 8-13 overall (2-2 Patriot League), while the Eagles improve to 16-2 overall (4-0 Patriot League). The Crusaders' 2-2 Patriot League record is their best record after four matches since the first ever Patriot League season in 1990 when they were also 2-2.
Senior libero Angela Chisholm (Millis, Mass.) led Holy Cross with 15 digs as she now has 978 career digs. Senior setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) tallied 20 assists and eight digs, while sophomore Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) had seven kills and six digs.
Angelina Waterman also recorded double-digit kills for American with 12, while Krista Cicala tallied 20 assists. Deborah Frantz recorded 16 digs.
The Crusaders return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 6, when they play Bryant in a non-conference match at the Holy Cross Field House at 7:00 p.m.
