BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks had three players record double-digit kills as the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Lehigh, 3-0, by scores of 27-25, 25-16 and 25-18 at Leeman-Turner Arena on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 5-12 overall (1-1 Patriot League), while the Mountain Hawks improve to 9-6 overall (1-1 Patriot League).
Junior Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) led the Crusaders with 14 kills and junior Elizabeth Watters (San Francisco, Calif.) posted a team-best 18 digs. Freshman Hannah Grace Stokes (Atlanta, Ga.) just missed a double-double with 30 assists and nine digs. Senior Kathleen Colpoys (Scituate, Mass.) ranked first on the team with three blocks, while she also notched seven kills. Freshman Layne Hubbard (Austin, Texas) recorded six kills.
Lehigh was led by Paige Kruse who tallied 13 kills and Jessica Kudirka who recorded 46 assists. Amanda Clark posted 12 kills and Angelika Kopacz earned 10 kills. Rachel Charles posted 17 digs.
The Crusaders return to action when they meet Navy at the Holy Cross Field House on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7:00 p.m. The Crusaders then take on American on Saturday, Oct. 1 in Worcester at 2:00 p.m.
