  • The Holy Cross volleyball team, which went 0-2 last week and are 6-15 overall (2-3 Patriot League), will play two conference matches on the road. The Crusaders will take on Colgate this Friday, Oct. 14 and then meet Bucknell on Saturday, Oct. 15. Colgate is tied for second place in Patriot League standings with a 4-1 record as they are also 7-11 overall, while Bucknell is tied for sixth with a 1-4 record and are 4-10 overall. The Crusaders are in fifth place. The Crusaders have lost two straight to Bucknell and 18 of their last 19 versus the Bison. The Crusaders' recent win was a 3-1 victory on Oct. 23, 2009. Holy Cross has lost 12 straight matches to the Raiders with its last win being on Nov. 12, 2004.
  • Junior Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) led the team with 52 kills and an outstanding 6.50 kills per set last week. Her .308 hitting percentage also led the Crusaders. She tied for first on the team with 27 digs and 3.38 digs per set. Lynch posted a career-best 34 kills and a team-best .395 hitting percentage in the match at Bryant as she also notched 13 digs. She averaged 6.8 kills per set and recorded 12 of the team's 18 kills in the fourth set. Lynch followed that performance by averaging 6.0 kills and 4.7 digs per set versus Army. She recorded double-doubles in both matches giving her 16 for the season and 43 for her career. She is second all-time in school history with 1,100 career kills and is now eighth with 835 career digs. She is just one of three players in program history to record over 1,000 kills and 800 digs.
  • Senior Kathleen Colpoys (Scituate, Mass.) has a career-best 61 blocks this season to lead the team and now has 194 for her career, which are fifth all-time at the school. This season, she also leads the team with a .276 hitting percentage, while she is second with 156 kills. For her career she has 688 kills.
  • Holy Cross is tied for first in the Patriot League with 1.88 blocks per set and is third with 15.10 digs per set. Lynch is first in the conference with 4.10 kills per set, while Colpoys is tied for fourth with a .276 hitting percentage. Colpoys is also third in blocks per set (0.90) and junior Callie Black (Fallon, Nev.) is sixth (0.84). Junior Elizabeth Watters (San Francisco, Calif.) is ranked fourth in the league with 4.01 digs per set, while freshman Hannah Grace Stokes (Atlanta, Ga.) is fourth in assists per set with 8.34 and is 10th in aces per set with 0.29. Lynch is tied for eighth with 0.30 aces per set.
