WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Black Knights posted a .356 hitting percentage as the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Army, 3-0, by scores of 25-14, 25-16 and 25-18 in Patriot League action at Gillis Field House on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 7-20 overall (3-7 Patriot League), while the Black Knights improve to 19-6 overall (9-1 Patriot League).
Senior Kathleen Colpoys (Scituate, Mass.) led the Crusaders with eight kills and three blocks. She recorded a .467 hitting percentage as she only posted one error on 15 attempts. Junior Elizabeth Watters (San Francisco, Calif.) led the team with 13 digs and freshman Hannah Grace Stokes (Atlanta, Ga.) notched 21 assists. Junior Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) recorded five kills.
Army was led by Ariana Mankus who recorded 16 kills and Mary Vaccaro who tallied 31 assists. D.J. Phee and Fabiola Castro each recorded 12 digs.
The Crusaders return to action when they travel to Washington, D.C. to meet Patriot League opponent American on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 p.m., at Bender Arena.
