Megan Lynch Named To Patriot League All-Academic Team
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior volleyball player Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) has been named to the third annual Patriot League volleyball All-Academic team. This is the third time that Lynch has earned this honor. The Patriot League All-Academic team was established in the 2010 season as Lynch is the only volleyball player from around the league to receive this honor all three times. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 total grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor. The team is voted on by volleyball sports information directors around the conference who could not vote for their own student-athletes.
Lynch, who was a two-year captain, has a 3.60 total grade point average and is a Psychology major. She is the only player in program history to post over 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs. Lynch holds the school's career kills record with 1,486 and ranks eighth on the Patriot League all-time career kills list. Her 1,108 career digs are sixth all-time at the school. Lynch, who had 49 career double-doubles, has three of the top four school single-season kills performances as she set the school kills record of 442 in 2010. Lynch earned second team All-Patriot League three times and has received Patriot League Academic Honor Roll accolades three times. Lynch was selected to six regular season All-Tournament teams during her career. She is also a two-year member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy and is a Big Sister in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program in Worcester.
