CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Boston College, 3-0, by scores of 30-11, 33-31 and 30-24, in the Boston College/Northeastern Challenge, on Thursday night at Power Gym. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 1-2 overall, while the Eagles improve to 2-3.
Senior outside hitter Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) led the Crusaders with 13 kills and eight digs, while freshman setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) recorded 26 assists and nine digs. Sophomore outside hitter Liz Auger (Barnstable, Mass.) had a solid match offensively with 12 kills and junior libero Molly Anderson (Weston, Conn.) led Holy Cross defensively with 10 digs.
The Eagles were led by Audrey Eichler's 15 kills and Brittany Pierpont's 37 assists.
The Crusaders will continue play in the Boston College/Northeastern Challenge when they face Northeastern on Friday, August 31 at 7:00 p.m. at Northeastern. Holy Cross will then take on New Hampshire and Sacred Heart on Saturday, September 1 to conclude the tournament.
