FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Bryant, 3-0, by scores of 25-21, 25-17 and 25-9 on Saturday afternoon in the Crusaders' last match of the Sacred Heart Invitational. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 0-4, while the Bulldogs improve to 4-1.
Junior co-captain Samantha Surface (Fresno, Calif.) led the Crusaders with six kills, while junior Liz Auger (Barnstable, Mass.) had five kills and freshman Libby Malloy (Stratford, Conn.) recorded four kills. Sophomore setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had 13 assists, while sophomore Angela Chisholm (Millis, Mass.) recorded 11 digs.
The Bulldogs were led by Hilary Andrews' nine kills and Miranda Kolb's 31 assists. Maureen Atkins and Robyn Gardner each had seven digs.
The Crusaders return to action on Monday, Sept. 8, when they host Dartmouth at 7:00 p.m., at the Holy Cross Field House.
