Volleyball Falls To Army, 3-0

West Point, N.Y. - The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Army, 3-0, by scores of 30-24, 30-19, and 30-17, in Patriot League action, on Saturday afternoon at Gillis Field House. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 5-14 overall (1-6 PL), while the Black Knights improve to 14-3 overall (6-1 PL).
Sophomore Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) led the Crusaders in kills with 10 marking the 17th time out of 19 matches that she has recorded double digit kills. Freshman Molly Anderson (Weston, Conn.) ranked first on the team in digs with 14 as she also chipped in with four kills. Senior captain Caitlin O'Callaghan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a solid match on offense and defense as she tallied six kills and 10 digs. Junior setter Chrissy Fanning (East Amherst, N.Y.) had 19 assists.
The Black Knights were led by Briana Stremick's nine kills and Abby Casciato's 39 assists. Mandy Kimbrell led all players with 20 digs.
The Crusaders return to the court when they host Patriot League foe Lehigh at the Holy Cross Field House on Friday, October 21, at 7:00 p.m.
