WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore Samantha Surface (Fresno, Calif.) recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs as the Holy Cross volleyball team defeated Lehigh, 3-0, by scores of 31-29, 30-19 and 30-21 in Patriot League action on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Crusaders improve to 4-22 overall (1-11 Patriot League), while the Mountain Hawks fall to 5-20 overall (2-10 Patriot League).
Surface also had a .409 hitting percentage, while senior Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) led the team in kills with 15 as she had a .407 hitting percentage. Sophomore Liz Auger (Barnstable, Mass.) also had a strong match with 11 kills, while junior Molly Anderson (Weston, Conn.) led the team with 14 digs. Freshman Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) recorded 35 assists.
The Mountain Hawks were led by Shannon Spafford's 12 kills and Brittany Dickinson's 12 assists.
The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, November 10 when they host Patriot League opponent Colgate at 5:00 p.m.
