Crusaders sweep Raiders

Hamilton, N.Y. - The Holy Cross volleyball team swept Colgate in three games (30-26, 30-25, 30-27) Friday night at Cotterell Court.

Three Crusaders led the attack, notching a total of 35 kills. Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) registered a team-high 13 kills, while senior Caitlin Agostinacchio (Bellmore, N.Y.) recorded 12 kills and junior Caitlin O'Callaghan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) tallied 10 kills. Aiding the offensive unit was setter Michelle Leahy (Andover, Mass.), who put up a game-high 34 assists

Leading the Crusaders defense was sophomore Valerie Mora (San Antonio, Texas), who hit a game-high of 19 digs.

Senior Laurel Oliver (Watertown, N.Y.) lead the Raiders with 15 kills, as teammate Erin Kanetzke (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Natalie Rawson (Palmdale, Calif.) tallied 13 digs each.

With the win the Crusaders are 7-18 overall and 6-7 in the Patriot League and remain in the race for the conference playoffs. Holy Cross must win tomorrow night against Bucknell in order to qualify for the playoffs.

The Crusaders take on the Bison at 4 p.m. in Lewisburg, Pa. in their last regular season match of the season.
