Jan. 23, 2008

WORCESTER, Mass. - Seven members of the Holy Cross volleyball team have been selected to the 2007 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office, including seniors Katie Fitzpatrick (Queensbury, N.Y.) and Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) who each earned perfect 4.0 grade-point averages in the fall semester. Fitzpatrick and Strawson were two of six members of the honor roll to record a 4.0, while both of them have earned a spot on the honor roll in all four seasons. Holy Cross' seven selections tied for the second most in the league.

The other members of the team to be named to the honor roll were senior Meagan Merinder (Andover, Mass.), junior Molly Anderson (Weston, Conn.), sophomore Liz Campbell (Mineola, N.Y.), sophomore Anastasia Quinn (Wilmington, Del.) and freshman Rebecca DeSanti (Hampden, Mass.).

A total of 46 student-athletes from volleyball teams around the league were named to the honor roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the seven League-sponsored fall championship sports.
