Christine Strawson Named To All-League Team
Nov. 16, 2005
Worcester, Mass. - Holy Cross sophomore volleyball player Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) has been selected to the 2005 Patriot League Volleyball All-League Second Team, it was announced today.
Strawson led the team in kills (351) and digs (278). Her 351 kills and her 4.08 kills per game ranks her second on the all-time Holy Cross single-season list. Strawson finished third in the Patriot League in kills per game, sixth in kills and 10th in digs per game (3.23).
Strawson recorded double digits in kills in 21 of 26 matches this season, while she registered 12 double-doubles.
This marks the third time a Crusader has received this honor as Caitlin Agostinacchio (2004) and Katie Lynch (1998) both received all-league honors.
Last week, Strawson was named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I second team as she has a 3.89 grade point average with a major in biology.
Holy Cross concluded the 2005 season with a 3-2 win over third place Army on November 12. The Crusaders finished with an overall record of 7-19, and a 3-11 mark in the Patriot League.
