  • The Holy Cross women's cross country team will return to action on Friday, Sept. 28, at the Paul Short Invitational. The race is hosted by Lehigh and will begin at 10:00 a.m.
  • This will be the second straight season Holy Cross participates in the Paul Short Invitational. In 2011, the Crusaders finished fifth of 44 teams as graduate Paige Sutherland earned the best team finish, taking 13th with a time of 22:20. Junior Emily Hughes (Milton, Mass.) finished just behind Sutherland with a time of 22:45 in 21st place. Juniors Sandra van den Heuvel (Nashua, N.H.) and Amanda Waldron (Walpole, Mass.) also recorded top times, crossing the finish line at 23:05 and 23:25, respectively.
  • The Crusaders are coming off a busy weekend of action with the team running in two different races. Select members traveled to the National Catholic Championship (9/14), hosted by Notre Dame, and four of the top five runners recorded personal bests. Freshmen Caroline Carley (Barrington, Ill.) and Katherine Holdridge (Preston, Conn.) also recorded impressive times in their first full-length collegiate cross country course. Other members of the team traveled to the UMass Dartmouth Invitational (9/15).
