EASTON, Pa. – The Holy Cross women's cross country team finished seventh of 10 teams at the 2013 Patriot League Championship on Saturday afternoon at the Metzgar Field Cross Country Course at Lafayette College. Senior Emily Hughes (Milton, Mass.) led the Crusaders with a 17th place finish of 101 runners with a time of 22:48.62 on the 6K course.
Sophomore Caroline Carley (Barrington, Ill.) crossed the finish line behind Hughes in 33rd place at 23:19.61. Freshman Caroline Carr (Ridgefield, Conn.) was the top rookie finisher for Holy Cross, taking 42nd with a time of 23:33.93. Fellow classmate Mary Welsh (Manhasset, N.Y.) followed Carr in 45th with a time of 23:39.59.
Other point scorers for Holy Cross included seniors Amanda Waldron (Walpole, Mass.) who Sandra van den Heuvel (Nashua, N.H.) who finished 52nd (23:50.54) and 55th (23:55.45), respectively. Freshman Rachel Sowinski (Mountain Top, Pa.) rounded out the top finishers for the Crusaders, taking 62nd with a time of 24:07.99.
