WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Infiniti Thomas-Waheed led the Holy Cross women’s basketball team with 19 points, as the Crusaders fell to Navy 65-58 on Thursday night.

Thomas-Waheed notched 19 points for Holy Cross (7-9, 2-3) while shooting 8-for-13 and adding six rebounds with three steals. Sophomore Lauren Manis posted 16 points while adding six rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Sophomore Megan Swords also scored in double digits, posting a career-high 12 points while adding six rebounds. Navy (13-3, 3-2) was led by Hannah Fenske, who shot 7-13 on the night and tallied 24 points. Taylor Dunham shot 8-for-14 for the Midshipmen to notch 21 points on the night, including 5-for-8 from three-point range.

Navy shot 45.3% (24-53) for the game, while Holy Cross shot 37.9% (22-58). The Midshipmen held the edge in rebounding, 35-32. The Crusaders scored 21 points off the bench, while Navy added seven.


  • Following the game, Thomas-Waheed was selected as the Woman of the Match presented the United States Marines.
  • She added 19 points with six rebounds and three steals, shooting 8-for-13 from the field.


  • After the lead changed multiple times early on, Holy Cross was able to maintain a narrow lead throughout the first quarter and entered the second up 17-10.
  • Navy posted an 8-0 run to start the second quarter and take control of the lead. The Midshipmen led by as many as seven before heading into halftime with a 32-27 advantage.
  • The Crusaders came within four points in the third quarter but could not cut the deficit any further, as Navy carried a 50-37 lead into the fourth.
  • After the Midshipmen jumped out to a 16-point lead, Holy Cross battled back to make it a four point game in the final minute. Despite the late push, the Crusaders could not get any closer and fell 65-58.


  • Navy had its strongest quarter in the second, outscoring Holy Cross 22-10 and shooting 64.3% (9-14) as a team.
  • The Midshipmen shot well from behind the arc, hitting 40.9% (9-22) of their three-pointers.
  • Holy Cross hit 11 of 12 of its free throw attempts (91.7%), and shot a perfect 11-for-11 from the charity stripe during the second half.


  • Holy Cross returns to action this Saturday, Jan. 13, as the Crusaders travel to Boston U. for a 2:00 p.m. game.
