WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore middle blocker Clare Honan recorded a season-high 14 kills to lead the Holy Cross volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Bucknell at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. Honan finished with an incredible .867 hitting percentage, as she had 14 kills and just one error in only 15 total attacks. The Crusaders improve to 3-13 overall and 2-1 in the Patriot League with the win, while the Bison fall to 5-9 on the season and 0-3 in the conference.

The first set was tied a 5-5 early on, when the Crusaders ran off seven straight points to take a commanding 12-5 lead. Holy Cross led by at least six points for the remainder of the set, eventually claiming a 25-14 victory. In set two, Bucknell held a 15-14 lead before the Crusaders won eight of the next nine points to go in front 22-16. Holy Cross went on to win the set 25-17. The third set was close most of the way, and the Crusaders held a narrow 15-13 lead midway through. Holy Cross then won seven of the next eight points to go up 22-14, and went on to close out the match by winning the set 25-17.

Freshman outside hitter Regan Wright recorded eight kills, eight digs and four aces on the night, while sophomore outside hitter Katie Kerins added seven kills and four digs. As a team, the Crusaders posted a season-best .349 hitting percentage, totaling 43 kills with 13 errors in 86 attacks.

The Crusaders return to action Saturday, Sept. 29, when they play host to Lehigh at 6:05 p.m.
