Men's Soccer Ties At Lafayette, 1-1
EASTON, Pa. – The Holy Cross men’s soccer team tied the Lafayette Leopards in its first Patriot League road match. Tyler Bell scored the lone Crusader goal for his first of the season as Bobby Barsic picked up his first assist of 2018. The Crusaders move to 2-3-4 and 1-0-1 in confernce play as the Leopards move to 4-3-2 and 0-1-1 in the Patriot League.
The Crusaders played their fifth double overtime game of the 2018 season. In the opening 45 minutes, neither team converted despite a 6-2 shot count in favor of the Leopards. Henry Stutz made two saves in the opening frame as Lafayette’s keeper Alex Sutton made one.
The teams played through two overtime periods, with Henry Stutz making one save in the second overtime period. Holy Cross recorded two shots in overtime and Lafayette posted one.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Lafayette outshot Holy Cross, 13-8.
- Henry Stutz finished the game with five saves.
- The Crusaders had four corner kick opportunities and the Leopards had six.

“It’s always good to get a point on the road, although I think we could have squeezed out three. The group competed hard and well, it was heavy and slippery against a good team. We will continue to make progress throughout the week.”
The Crusaders are back in action in Worcester on Oct. 9, when they take on Boston University for the Turnpike Trophy at 7:05 p.m.
