WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women’s soccer team defeated Loyola on senior day at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 6. Courtesy of a Kelly Crowley header on a set piece, the Crusaders took a 1-0 lead and never relinquished. Holy Cross improves to 4-8-0 and 2-3-0 in conference play while Loyola drops to 5-8-0 and 1-4 in league action.
In the first half, the Crusaders garnered a corner kick opportunity that led to the deciding goal. As Ang Seslija sent the ball towards the back post of the goal, Kelly Crowley headed in the ball to defeat Loyola’s keeper Sumer Rahe.
Sophia Lettieri posted three saves in the first half to keep the Greyhounds off the board and added four in the second half to complete the clean sheet. The game marks Lettieri’s third shutout of the season.

Loyola outshot Holy Cross, 15-7.
The Crusaders had eight corner kick opportunities to Loyola’s five.
Lettieri added seven saves and Loyola’s Rahe recorded four saves.
