Bill Samko is in his sixth season on Tom Gilmore’s coaching staff in 2016, and his fourth year as the offensive line coach.

During his time at Holy Cross, Samko has placed three players on the All-Patriot League teams: Sean Whited in 2012, Kyle Pedretty in 2013 and Jay Knighton in 2014. During the 2011 campaign, he was a volunteer assistant coach working with the offense.

Samko joined the Crusaders after spending 17 seasons as the head coach at Tufts University from 1994-2010. He won 57 games during his time at Tufts, and is tied for second on the school’s all-time list for coaching victories. Samko was previously the head coach at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn., from 1987-1993, going 35-27-1 while winning a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference titles and twice being named the SCAC Coach of the Year. He also spent time as an assistant coach at Yale from 1981-1986, after beginning his career as an assistant coach at Tufts from 1974-1980.

Samko is a 1973 graduate from the University of Connecticut, where he played football and baseball. A native of Worcester, Samko graduated from Worcester Academy in 1969.
