Crusader Athletics Fund
The Crusader Athletics Fund (CAF) raises unrestricted annual support for the College’s 27 varsity athletics programs. CAF provides resources to each program through sport-specific designations that support expenses associated with recruiting, equipment, travel, technology and assistant coach salaries. It also makes unrestricted funds available to the entire Athletics department through the Fund for Athletics Excellence, which allows Director of Athletics Nathan Pine to use the money were it is needed the most.
Established in 2007, CAF makes it possible for former athletes, parents and Holy Cross fans to support Holy Cross varsity programs. Since its inception, it has raised $12.7 million for these programs. In fiscal year 2017, $2.1 million was raised from 4,441 donors — a record for both donor dollars and participation! The record-breaking year represented a 21 percent increase in dollars and a 2 percent increase in donors over the previous year. In this fiscal year, the goal is to raise $2.2 million from 4,500 donors.
