WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men’s soccer team will take on the Colgate Raiders in the Patriot League Final on Nov. 12 at 3:05 p.m. at the Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore, Md. The game will be streamed on the Patriot League Network. 

Quick Kicks
Arno Rupp leads the Crusaders with 18 points on eight goals and two assists in 19 games played.
Nicholas Cestaro has tallied three goals, each coming in the Crusaders last five games.
• A total of 10 Crusaders have recorded at least one point in the 2017 season, nine of which have scored at least one goal.
Henry Stutz has recorded seven shutouts in 2018, including four-consecutive clean sheets in the team’s last four matches. Stutz holds a 1.43 goals against average and a .703 save percentage through 18 games played.
• Stutz and the team have not conceded a goal in 413 minutes of play. The last goal allowed came in the Crusaders’ Oct. 25 victory over Colgate.

In the Semifinal
• Holy Cross played 110 scoreless minutes with Boston University to officially end the game in a 0-0 draw. The game was decided in penalty kicks and Holy Cross advanced, 4-1.
• In the 110 minutes of play, Henry Stutz made five saves to record his fourth-consecutive shutout and seventh of the season.
• Sophomore keeper Bobby Hurstak came off the bench to make two-consecutive saves in penalty kicks. Justin Carfora, Brad Ross, Max Krause, and Arno Rupp each scored on their PKs.
• In the rivalry series between the Terriers and the Crusaders, the Turnpike Trophy game MVP went to Hurstak for his two saves that sent the Crusaders into the finals.

In the Quarterfinal
• Holy Cross played at No. 4-seeded Lehigh and jumped out to an early lead to eventually win, 3-0.
• The Crusaders scored three goals in the opening 13 minutes, coming within 10 minutes of each other.
• Rupp scored the fastest goal of the 2017 season in the top of the third minute. Cestaro followed it up with a goal in the 12th minute and then Brad Ross headed in a corner kick in the 13th minute.
Max Krause recorded two helpers in the game, tying a single-game high for the rookie and a Patriot League tournament game high.
Henry Stutz posted seven saves to preserve his sixth clean sheet of the season.

Amazing Arno
• Senior forward Arno Rupp leads the team with 18 points. He has scored eight goals and three have served as game-winners.
• He has tallied 43 career points and has moved into the 11th spot on the all-time career points list at Holy Cross.
• On Nov. 7 he was named the Patriot League Scholar Athlete of the Year and to the Academic All-Patriot League with a 3.77 gpa as a mathematics and economics major. The last Crusader to nab this honor was Rusty Giudici in 2002.
• Additionally, Rupp was named to the CoSIDA All-Academic District 1 Team for the second-consecutive year.
• Rupp also tallied the penalty kick that sealed the win for the Crusaders against the Terriers in the semifinals.

The Crusaders’ Back Line
• Holy Cross’s defense and Henry Stutz have led the team to a five game unbeaten streak, including four-consecutive clean sheets.
• The last Holy Cross team to record four-consecutive shutouts was in 2002, when they did not allow a goal from Sept. 14 to Oct. 5. The 2002 team was also the most recent and only Crusader team to take home a Patriot League Tournament championship.
Henry Stutz’s seven shutouts in a single season ranks him third all-time at Holy Cross.

Holy Cross in the Tournament
• The Crusaders have played in 19 Patriot League Tournament games with a 4-10-5 record.
• Holy Cross is 2-8-3 in semifinal games. In the last three semifinal appearances for the Crusaders, the team advanced in penalty kicks (2017, 2013, 2008).
• After Wednesday’s win over Lehigh, Holy Cross is 2-0-0 in quarterfinal games.
• In final games, the Crusaders are 0-2-2. When the claimed the Patriot League crown in 2002, they won in PKs after drawing with Lehigh,0-0.
• Holy Cross’ last Patriot League final appearance came in 2013, when they were defeated by Navy, 2-0.

The Crusaders in the Patriot League
• Holy Cross finished in fifth place in the league with a 4-3-2 conference record, despite being picked tenth in the preseason poll.
• The four league wins is the most since the 2013 season.
• Three Crusaders were tabbed for All-Patriot League honors as Justin Carfora and Arno Rupp were Second Team selections. Yuji Callahan was a Third Team selection for the second-consecutive season.
• With a fifth-place finish, the Crusaders secured their Patriot League Tournament bid for the first time since 2013, when the team finished in third place and advanced to the championship game.

All-Time vs. the Raiders
• The Crusaders are 8-14-6 against the Raiders, with their most recent win on Oct. 25.
• The final game will be the third meeting between the two teams in the post season. In post-season play, the Crusaders are 1-1-0 against the Raiders.
• The last time the two teams faced in tournament play, Holy Cross defeated Colgate, 3-0, in 2013 in a quarterfinal match-up.

The Last Time vs. the Raiders
• The Crusaders rallied to erase a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Raiders on Oct. 25, 4-3. Despite getting a red card and giving up a late penalty kick goal, Holy Cross’ Nicholas Cestaro scored with one minute in regulation to send the game into overtime. Arno Rupp tallied his second of the game and the game-winner off of a free kick that bent around the wall and just inside the post.
• The rookies played a large role in the win, Edi Mujan scored his first career-goal and Max Krause recorded his first two-assist effort of the season.

Scouting Colgate
• The Raiders enter the Tournament as a No. 6 seed, after upsetting the No. 1 overall seed Loyola in a 3-2 overtime win.
• Colgate enters the game with a 9-10-1 overall record and finished the Patriot League regular season with a 4-4-1 record.
• Since their defeat at Holy Cross, the team is on a four game winning streak and has scored 10 goals.
• The Raiders are led by Jared Stroud, with 11 points on three goals and 11 assists. Aram Ouligian leads the team in goal scoring with seven in 20 games played.
• Colgate has played two keepers this season and Jacob Harris played last against Loyola. Harris has played six games, recorded three shut outs, made 26 saves, and helped his team to a 5-1-0 record. He holds a 1.15 goals against average and 0.788 save percentage.
