Following a 10-day break for final exams, the Holy Cross men’s basketball team returns to action when it plays host to Iona at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19. The game between the Crusaders and the Gaels will be televised live by Charter TV3 and the Patriot League Network, and can be heard live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.

Holy Cross currently owns an overall record of 3-6 on the season. In their last outing, the Crusaders posted a 62-58 victory over New Hampshire to snap a six-game losing streak.

Freshman guard Caleb Green has led the team by averaging 11.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, while hitting 40.5 percent of his three-point field goal attempts. Junior forward Karl Charles is also off to a strong start this year, with averages of 11.0 points, 3.4 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals per contest. Junior forward Jehyve Floyd has added 10.7 points, 5.3 boards and 0.8 blocks per game, while junior guard Patrick Benzan is chipping in with 8.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals per contest.

Iona has an overall record of 5-5 on the season. The Gaels had won four straight games before falling to St. John’s 69-59 on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.

Junior guard Rickey McGill has led the team by averaging 13.2 points, 5.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game so far this season, while making 36.2 percent of his three-point attempts. Sophomore forward E.J. Crawford (12.5 points per game), senior guard Zach Lewis (11.6 points per game), senior guard Deyshonee Much (11.3 points per game) and senior forward T.K. Edogi (10.3 points per game) are also scoring in double figures for the Gaels.

After the contest with Iona, the Crusaders will travel to Siena for a 7:00 p.m. game on Friday, Dec. 22.
