Matthew Perry is in his fifth season as the Volunteer Director of Operations for Holy Cross in 2018.
Perry was a standout third baseman for the Holy Cross baseball team from 2007-2010. He was named first team All-Patriot League and second team All-New England as a senior, and was also selected as the Patriot League Player of the Year following his junior season.
A member of the Patriot League 25th Anniversary team, Perry posted a .409 batting average in 2010, with 81 hits, 54 runs scored and 36 runs batted in. He also set Holy Cross single-season records for games played (52), games started (52), at-bats (198), runs scored (54), hits (81) and total bases (116) as a senior. Perry concluded his Holy Cross career with a .365 batting average, a .537 slugging percentage, a .439 on-base percentage and 100 runs batted in. He still ranks as the Crusaders’ all-time leader in hits (220), runs scored (135) and doubles (52).
Following his senior season, Perry was drafted by the Detroit Tigers. He becomes the third generation in his family to join the Hall of Fame, following in the footsteps of his father Ronnie Perry (Class of 1980) and his grandfather Ron Perry (Class of 1954).
