Women's Soccer Signs Six To National Letters Of Intent

WORCESTER, Mass. – Head Women’s Soccer Coach Casey Brown has announced that six student-athletes have signed national letters of intent to play for Holy Cross. The incoming class includes Lexi Ansaldi, Cricket Basa, Paige Epp, Olivia Ferrara, Caroline Harkins and Grace Keith.

“We are very excited to welcome our newest Crusaders to the Holy Cross women’s soccer family,” said Brown. “This class comes from a variety of high-level club experiences and will add to the talent of our team. Most importantly, these six individuals all embody the necessary character traits we seek to be successful within all facets as a student-athlete at Holy Cross. We couldn’t be more delighted to welcome Caroline, Cricket, Grace, Lexi, Olivia and Paige to the program!”

Lexi Ansaldi

  • Three-year starter at East Catholic under head coach Liz Palmer
  • Named team captain for her senior year
  • Named all-conference in 2016
  • Team won state championship in 2014
  • Tallied 30 goals in her three-year career
  • Played at the club level with Oakwood Socc Club in the U.S. Development Academy
  • Team won 2015 NEWSS Championship and 2015 Jefferson Cup
  • Served as President of the National Honors Society and Senior Class Treasurer


Cricket Basa

  • Four-year starter at Montpelier under head coach John Dellipriscolli
  • Served as team captain as a junior and senior
  • Team advanced to state finals in 2016
  • In 2017 she was named All-American, Vermont Player of the Year and All-New England by United Soccer Coaches
  • Also named Vermont Coaches Player of the Year
  • Earned Capital League Player of the Year and First Team All-Capital League and First Team All-State in 2015 and 2017
  • Totaled 56 goals with 22 assists in 46 career appearances
  • Also played four years of varsity ice hockey and three years of varsity track & field
  • Competed at the Club Level for Nordic Soccer Club, where the team won the State Cup from 2014-2017
  • Earned high honors each academic year


Paige Epp

  • Four-year varsity player at Grimsby Secondary under head coach Russ McBride
  • Served as a team co-captain as a junior and senior
  • Team won DSBN Conference Championship in 2016-17 and made finals in 2014-15 and 2015-16.
  • Team made Southern Ontario Secondary School Association (SOSSA) finals in 2015-16 and semifinals in 2016-17
  • Also played four years of varsity basketball
  • Competed at the club level with Saltfleet-Stoney Creek Soccer Club of the Ontario Youth League, where the team won the Canadian National Championship and Ontario Cup Championship in 2014
  • Made principal’s honor roll all four years


Olivia Ferrara

  • Competed in four varsity years at Pomfret under head coach Erin Fisher
  • Served as team captain in 2017
  • Team made New England Finals in 2017 and captured WWNEPSAA Championship that same year
  • Named all-state in 2016 and 2017
  • She also earned all-region and All-WWNEPSAA honors in 2017
  • Selected for the 2017 Connecticut Senior Bowl
  • Finished her career with 47 goals and 25 assists
  • Competed at the club level with FSA FC of the ECNL, where the team qualified for national playoffs in 2015 and 2016
  • Earned Head of School Scholar Award all four academic years


Caroline Harkins

  • Played four varsity years at Hingham under head coach Ryan Puntiri
  • Served as team captain her senior season
  • Team won Division II State Championship in 2014, 2015 and 2016
  • Team also captured Patriot League Championships in 2014, 2016 and 2017
  • Posted undefeated seasons in 2014 and 2016
  • Named Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic in 2015, 2016 and 2017
  • Earned Boston Herald All-Scholastic honors three times and Boston Globe All-Scholastic honors once
  • Member of the first Hingham girls soccer team to win a state title
  • Totaled 50 goals and 59 assists in her career, helping the team to an overall record of 74-7-7
  • Also competed in two seasons of varsity track
  • Competed with NEFC/Breakers and FC Boston at the club level, where she helped lead her team to U.S> Club Soccer and NPL National Champion titles in 2016
  • Named to High Honor Roll all four academic years


Grace Keith

  • Four-year varsity player at Nashoba Regional under head coach Renee Moulton
  • Served as team captain her senior year
  • Named all-state and league all-star as a sophomore and a senior
  • Helped lead her team to three Midwatch League Championships and two Central Mass. District Championships
  • Competed at the club level with FC Stars of Massachusetts, where the team made the ECNL Final Four in 2016
  • Earned academic awards for Excellence in Physics and Engineering; as well as English
