Sherman Ends 2017-18 Season at NCAA Zone A Meet
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Junior Casey Sherman, member of the Holy Cross swimming and diving team, competed at the NCAA Zone A Meet on March 5-6 in the 1m and 3m diving events. Rutgers University hosted the Zone A Meet.
In the preliminary round of the 1m event, Sherman finished 49th out of 54 divers, and she scored a 174.40. In the 3m diving event, Sherman finished 48th out of 49 and scored 171.75.
Sherman is just the third Crusader to compete at the Zone A Diving Meet. In order to qualify, divers must score a 265 or higher in the 1m dive, 280 or higher in the 3m dive or 225 or higher in platform diving. Sherman has qualified for the 1m and 3m events every year she has competed.
During the 2017-2018 season, Sherman qualified for the NCAA Zone Meet for her dives in the 1m (290.15) and 3m (321.90) events, which were both meet records at the Worcester City Championships on Oct. 29. Her scores from the Worcester City Championships also broke the standing Holy Cross records.
