Matherne Named to Academic All-Patriot League Team

WORCESTER, Mass. - Women's track & field senior Zoe Matherne was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, as announced by the league office on May 9. Eleven student-athletes were named to the women's Academic All-Patriot League Team with one Scholar Athlete of the Year. 

Student-athetes must have a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a key contributor or starter on his or her team to be eligible for the nomination. 

This is the second time in Matherne's career that she has been selected for the academic all-league team. She has maintained a 3.60 grade point average and majors in history. After graduatin, Matherne plans to attend law school. 

At the Patriot League Outdoor Championships this year, Matherne doubled in the 800m (2:09.78) and 1500m (4:27.39) taking third place in each. She also anchored the 4x800m relay team, which took first place with a time of 8:52.46 on the first day of competition. 

Matherne will compete at ECACs this weekend, May 12-13, in Princeton, N.J.
