Men's Track and Field Has 29 Named To Patriot League Academic Honor Roll
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men’s track and field team had 29 student-athletes named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league on Tuesday. Junior Christopher Puntasecca led the Crusaders with a 4.00 GPA during the spring semester.
Six members of the senior class earned a spot on the honor roll, including John Albinson, Bill Christ, Alec Hilton, Thomas Kalantzakos, Dan McLoughlin and Phil Zobrest. The junior class led the way, with 12 student-athletes claiming their spot. The juniors named to the honor roll included Puntasecca, Sawyer Badey, Brett Boddy, Liam Campbell, Ryan Clark, Myles Connor, Andrew Delzotto, Alexander Escada, Joseph Prunty, Matthew Silas, Michael Tafaro and Brandon Thornhill.
Four sophomores were selected, including Alex Campagna, Freddie Halloran, Chris Shakespeare and Jackson Skelley. The freshman class had seven selections on the honor roll, with Russell Abbott, Brendan Cogdell, Joe Doerr, Jake Mastrandrea, Peter Mitchell, Evan Realbuto and Hunter Russell each earning their spot.
A total of 203 student-athletes from men's track and field teams around the league earned spots on this year's Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll a student-athlete must earn a grade point average of 3.20 or better during the spring semester.
