Women's Tennis Loses Tough One at Mount Holyoke

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women’s tennis team lost to Mount Holyoke, 5-4, Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Crusaders lost in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, but senior Jennifer Kary and freshman Maddie DeNucci pulled out the 9-7 win in No. 3 doubles.
  • Kary followed that up with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles.
  • After losses at No. 1 and No. 4 singles to go down 4-2 overall, DeNucci won her No. 3 singles match, 6-2, 6-2.
  • Senior Caroline Kam won No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-3, to tie the overall score at four.
  • That is where the comeback would end, with Mount Holyoke winning the final match of the night to claim the 5-4 win.

Holy Cross will host a tournament with Connecticut this Sunday, Oct. 7, starting at 9:00 a.m.
