Elyse Bauman joins the Holy Cross volleyball staff as an assistant coach for the 2019 season.
Bauman remains in Worcester after three seasons as the head volleyball coach at Assumption College from 2016 to 2018. During her time with the Greyhounds, Bauman’s athletes achieved a high level of academic success, recording a team grade-point average above 3.29 each season and with more than half of the team being named to the NE10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll each semester. Her team posted marquee wins over the reigning conference champions in 2016 and 2017 and increased its conference win total between 2017 and 2018.
Previously, she worked as the head volleyball coach at Central Baptist College in 2015, and was a graduate assistant coach for Christian Brothers University in 2013 and 2014.
Bauman was a four-year letterwinner for the volleyball team at Pace University from 2009 to 2012, helping the Setters to an appearance in the Northeast-10 Championship and three straight NCAA Tournament appearances. She was a two-time Northeast-10 First Team All-Conference selection and the league’s Libero of the Year in 2011 and 2012. In 2011, she was named a Daktronics First Team East Region selection and a Third-Team All-American, and in 2012, she earned AVCA Division II All-East Region honors. She graduated Pace with a Bachelor’s degree in biology in 2013, and later earned a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2015 from Christian Brothers.
