Women's Ice Hockey Announces 2018-2019 Schedule

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head women’s hockey coach Peter Van Buskirk has announced the Crusaders’ 2018-2019 schedule, where they will play their inaugural season in Hockey East. This season will feature 33 regular season games, including 14 games at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. 

Heading into the 2018-2019 season, Van Buskirk said, “We are proud to be a member of Hockey East and are excited about the opportunity to compete in such a challenging schedule.”

Holy Cross will open the 2018-2019 season with a five-game road stretch. The Crusaders will play a weekend series at RIT on Sept. 28 and 29, followed by one game at RPI on Oct. 6. Holy Cross will open Hockey East play for the first time ever, with a road game at Providence on Oct. 12 and then travel to Connecticut on Oct. 13.

Holy Cross will play a home-and-home with Brown, playing at Brown on Oct. 19 and then opening the Hart Center Rink on Oct. 20. The Crusaders will then host 2018 NCAA Tournament participant Boston College on Oct. 26 and Merrimack on Oct. 27 followed 2018 Hockey East Tournament Champions Northeastern on Nov. 2. The Crusaders will hit the road to play at Maine on Nov. 4.

Holy Cross will play a home-and-home with Merrimack on Nov. 9 and 10. The Crusaders will then host the New Hampshire Wildcats on Nov. 17. In a mid-week match-up, Holy Cross will travel to Harvard on Nov. 20. On Nov. 24, Holy Cross will host Boston College and then host Northeastern on Nov. 30.

The Crusaders will play at Northeastern on Dec. 1 and at Providence on Dec. 7. Holy Cross will return to action on Jan. 4 at Connecticut, before a four-game home stretch. Holy Cross will host Connecticut (Jan. 5), Maine (Jan. 12-13) and Boston University (Jan. 18). Holy Cross will then play at Boston University on Jan. 19.

The Crusaders will play a home-and-home with New Hampshire on Jan. 26 and 27. Holy Cross will play at Boston College on Feb. 1 and then host Vermont on Feb. 3. After playing Boston University on Feb. 15, the Crusaders will travel to Vermont for two games on Feb. 15 and 16. To close the regular season, Holy Cross will host Providence on Feb. 22.

The Hockey East Tournament will begin with the Quarterfinals, scheduled for March 1-3 at campus sites. The Championship Weekend is set for March 9-10. Hockey East will announce the site of the 2019 championship at a later date.
