Crusaders Finish Seventh at Bucknell Invitational
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior Joe Egan finished in a tie for seventh place as an individual, to lead the Holy Cross men’s golf team to a seventh-place finish out of 18 schools in the Bucknell Invitational at the Bucknell Golf Club. Egan totaled a 141 over two rounds to finish at one-over par, including a one-under par 69 in Tuesday’s final round.
Freshman Collin Fitzpatrick tied for 22nd place overall with a 145, while sophomore Harrison Thayer tied for 31st with a 147. Freshman John Bowen tied for 43rd (149), sophomore Paul Carey tied for 48th (150) and sophomore Connor Phillips tied for 89th (165).
Temple won the team title with a two-round total of 564, w¬¬hile Holy Cross totaled 582. La Salle’s Dragon Theam was the individual medalist after finishing at seven-under par (133).
The Crusaders return to action when they take part in the Lehigh Invitational at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa., from Oct. 19-20.
BEYOND THE RESULTS:
• Fitzpatrick has the lowest score on the team on Monday, with an even-par round of 70.
• Egan played the final 20 holes of the tournament at three-under par, including birdies on the final two holes on Monday.
