WORCESTER, Mass. – Four Crusaders scored in double digits as the Holy Cross women’s basketball team fell to Dartmouth, 76-74, in overtime in front of 2,312 fans on Wednesday morning at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex.

Holy Cross was led by senior Infiniti Thomas-Waheed, who tallied 23 points while adding nine rebounds. Sophomore Lauren Manis registered her fifth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Tricia Byrne also added 14 points while shooting 6-for-7, and sophomore Madalyn Smith posted 13 points while shooting 4-for-6 from three-point range. Dartmouth was led Olivia Smith, who scored 17 points. Cy Lippold earned a double-double for the Big Green with 13 points and 10 assists. 

The Crusaders shot 47.5% (29-for-61), while Dartmouth hit 44.3% (31-for-70) of their shots. The Big Green had a narrow edge in rebounds, 38-37. Holy Cross committed 25 turnovers, while Dartmouth made 17. 


  • Following the game, Thomas-Waheed was selected as the Woman of the Match presented the United States Marines.
  • She posted 13 points while shooting 10-for-16 and adding nine rebounds.


  • After Dartmouth scored the first four points of the game, the Crusaders went on an 8-0 to gain control of the lead early. Holy Cross led 18-10 at the end of the first quarter.
  • The Big Green posted a 15-2 run in the second quarter to take control of the lead, and took a34-26 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
  • The Crusaders pulled ahead three minutes into the third quarter, and maintained their advantage heading into the fourth up 54-51.
  • In the fourth quarter, the score was tied three times, with Lippold hitting a jumper for Dartmouth with 30 seconds remaining in regulation to help send the game to overtime.
  • The lead changed three times in overtime, with the Big Green earning a two-point advantage following a foul from the Crusaders with four seconds remaining to seal the final score.


  • Dartmouth scored 27 points off turnovers, while Holy Cross posted 21.
  • The Crusaders had 71 of their 74 points (95.9%) come from their starters.
  • Holy Cross had four players score in double figures for the second time this season. The same four players (Byrne, Manis, Smith and Thomas-Waheed) also reached double figures against Brown on Nov. 29.
  • This was the first time an opposing team had five players score in double figures against the Crusaders since March 6, 2015 against Lehigh.


  • Holy Cross returns to action Friday, Dec. 29 when the Crusaders travel to Colgate for their Patriot League opener at 7:00 p.m.
