Holy Cross Athletics   10-30-2018

WORCESTER, Mass. – Seniors Emily Loprete and Suzanne Noone of the Holy Cross field hockey team earned All-Patriot League honors, as announced by the league on Tuesday. Loprete, a First Team selection, is being honored for the third time having been named to the Second Team as a sophomore and First Team as a junior. Noone, a member of the Second Team, is being honored for the first time.

Loprete led the team this season with 13 goals and one assists for 27 points. The goal and point totals led the Patriot League as well. Her .76 goals per game ranks 16th across all of Division I. She scored three goals in the Crusaders first win of the season, 4-0 over Colgate. Loprete also tallied the overtime game-winner at La Salle in a 5-4 victory. The Watertown native will wrap up her career with the Crusaders with a total of 39 goals and nine assists for 87 points, which puts her in the top ten all-time in program history.

Noone was second on the team this year with three goals and four assists for ten points. She found the back of the net in wins against Colgate and Lehigh and also scored the Crusaders’ only goal in a 3-1 loss to Bucknell. Noone finishes her time at Holy Cross with eight goals and nine assists for 25 points.

The Crusaders wrapped up their season at 3-14 and a 2-4 mark in conference play, just missing out on a Patriot League tournament spot.
