All-Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Teams Announced

WORCESTER, Mass. - Eight Holy Cross women's lacrosse players were recognized by the Patriot League including first-team selections, Patricia Sutton (Saratoga Spring, N.Y.), Megan Orr (Wilton, Conn.), Nikki Bolduc (Exeter, N.H.), Darcy Wolcott (Concord, N.H.), Kristine Corkum (Ipswich, Mass.), Cara O'Sullivan (Duxbury, Mass.), and Megan Fenton (Bridgewater, N.J.) and second team selection Amy Archambault (West Hartford, Conn.).

This is the third-consecutive first-team nod for Sutton and Orr and the second-consecutive for Bolduc and Wolcott while Corkum, O'Sullivan and Fenton are honored for the first time. Archambault was named to the first-team in 2005.

Senior midfielder Sutton led the team with 47 goals and 17 assists breaking Holy Cross' all-time career goals and career points record. She leads the league in goals and is second in points while ranking second all-time in career goals (205) and career points (280).

Senior goalkeeper Orr recorded 180 saves this season and broke the school's all-time saves record. She leads the league in goals against average (8.63), save percentage (.564), saves, and groundballs (56). Orr ranks second all-time in the Patriot League with 817 career saves.

Junior attack Bolduc tallied 20 points with 15 goals and five assists this season. She recorded 28 draw controls, picked up 11 groundballs and had seven caused turnovers. Senior defender Wolcott leads the team with 18 caused turnovers. She is second with 30 groundballs and helped hold conference opponents to just 26 goals.

Junior attack Corkum is second on the team with 42 goals and 12 assists. She is tied second in the league in goals and ranks third in points. Junior defender O'Sullivan is second on the team with 17 caused turnovers. She also picked up 18 groundballs and scored seven goals. Freshman midfielder Fenton scored 34 goals and added six assists in her first year and ranks eighth in the league with 40 points.

Junior attack Archambault is fourth on the team with 35 points with 23 goals and 12 assists this season. She is tied 10th in the league in assists, tied 15th in goals and ranks 17th in points.

Other first-team all-league selections include Lauren Aksinoff (American), Inneke Carmola (Lehigh), Sara MacIntyre (Lehigh), Jackie Lane (American), Bonnie Buechel (Bucknell), Tara Casey (Colgate) and Caitlin Bell (American). The second-team selections include Ashley Didio (Colgate), Lindsay Pittard (Colgate), Madalyn Booth (Lafayette), Maria Drehwig (Lafayette), Caithlin Gorman (American), Molly Carroll (Colgate), Jessica Van der Meulen (Colgate), Brittany Finnegan (American), Lauren Deitrich (Bucknell), Sarah Fudin (Lehigh), Kristine Vida (American), and Christy Smith (Lehigh).

The Patriot League major award winners will be announced at the women's lacrosse banquet Thursday night.

The Crusaders (11-5 overall, 5-0 Patriot League) will host the Patriot League Tournament April 27 and 29 at Hart Astroturf. The first seeded Holy Cross will face the fourth seeded Colgate Friday at 1:00 p.m. while the second seeded Lehigh will take on the third seeded American at 4:00 p.m. The championship game will be played Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
