The Lead: The Holy Cross men’s cross country team posted its best finish in four years, claiming the 22nd spot at the New England Championship in Boston, Mass. on Saturday morning.


  • Leading the way for the Crusaders was sophomore Joseph Prunty, who took the 66th spot, recording a season-best time of 26:00.94. Senior co-captain G.Matthew Greco was the next Holy Cross runner to finish, taking the 119th spot with a time of 26:44.30.
  • Junior Bryan Gallagher (138th; 26:55.90) and freshman Bobby Tuzzio (141st; 26:57.72), followed by junior Alec Hilton in the 160th spot with a time of 27:17.45 rounded out the top five for the Crusaders.
  • Northeastern took the title with 109 total points, while American International’s Kipkosgei Leaky finished first place with a time of 24:21.56.


  • Holy Cross competes again on Saturday, Oct. 15 in Easton, Pa., as the Crusaders prepare to take on the Leopard Invitational hosted by Lafayette at 10:00 a.m.
